This is what feminism is

Recently, I was seated next to an acquaintance at a fundraising dinner, and somehow the conversation turned to feminism. His point: Men, not women, are the gender discriminated against in modern culture.

Lively debate ensued. Obviously.

The statement below represents my personal feminist beliefs. Click on the link for just one example demonstrating the glass ceiling’s continued existence.

“The women have been quite clear on this. ‘Don’t do us any favours, commissioner. Just be fair to us. Don’t be promoting women because they’re women. Promote them because they’re qualified.'”

Women want fair treatment, not special treatment.
