Meet your Wildrose Candidate: Allan Hunsperger – UPDATED
Despite WRP leader Danielle Smith’s flip flopping on abortion: pro-choice? Pro-life? Will she defund abortion? No, wait, she expects you to defund abortion, Smith still wants you to believe that her party is not like those scary Reformer types.
Don’t believe it.
Former Alberta Liberal leader, David Swann, had the following to say about Smith:
[Albertans will be uneasy with her]…”rather extreme, socially conservative, economically irresponsible vision of the party”.
But if you still think that Smith is going to be this softer, gentler right-wing conservative, I’d like to introduce you to her candidate for Edmonton-Southwest, Allan Hunsperger. He sure has a lot to say about the acceptance of gays and lesbians, including the idea that just because you “were born this way” doesn’t mean you have a right to “live this way.” (And yes, he references Lady Gaga).
For a province that just elected progressive Calgary mayor, Naheed Nenshi, I am stunned by this regressive turn of events.

It really is laughable. Everytime some “Bible thumper” says something about his beliefs, regarding whatever, those who feel they’ve been offended, includng for some reason the media, jump all over him, referring to him as a knuckledragging, redneck who should step into the 21st century.The unfortunate thing for these people is that the Bible, the Good Book is as relevent today as it was when it first came off the press. Why? Because the truth is the truth, regardless of century. The irony is that those who demand stepping into the 21st century would unknowingly drag us back to the days of Sodom an Gomorrah, and all the wonderful “values” practised by the citizenry of those two cities. You know, men laying with men, prostitution, cats living with dogs, murdering your babies because they they are an inconvenience, abandoning your elderly for the same reason, just general drunkennness and debauchery. Some enlightenment! We have come to believe that we have achieved such wisdom and greatness that we no longer have any need of God, or His silly rules We have our superior intellect and government laws. People, that’s not only standing on thin ice, it’s untrue. All our laws are Judeo-Christian based, and Judaism and Christianity base those laws on the 10 Commandments,written, and handed to Moses by, as far as anyone knows, God. You just can’t get better jurisprudence than that. No one says a word when a blogger writes that God has no power in this country except that which government grants Him. Now that’s scary, we are now granting God power! In our great wisdom, and with our superior intellects we have become fools. Thank God for men like Allan Hunsperger. .
