Campaign Life Coalition scrubs Hudak’s abortion statement

Posted in Uncategorized by gritchik on July 17, 2011

Thanks to Fern Hill for letting me know. Good thing you can still view it here. (I think we should also be questioning Hudak’s “pro traditional family” statement as well) .

How about someone in the MSM asking Hudak exactly what his views are on abortion? It’s important, don’t you think?

You’re most welcome. The people want to know. Etc.

Didn’t he already say he was pro-life, originally in that site Dammit Janet originally linked to?

Did you guys not learn anything from the May election or do you have a death wish like your federal counterparts? Don’t get me wrong, as a democratic socialist I’m quite happy to see you running off the cliff, but I thought I should point out you’re basically running the same campaign as your federal counterparts, and polls are showing you’re heading for the same kind of obscurity.

You have a leader whose popularity has plummeted. Ontario is mired in economic uncertainty. You brought in a wildly unpopular tax. You have flagrantly mismanaged public treasury. And now you want to run on ethics and morality? How well did contempt for democracy work out for the federal Liberals? Your problem here is twofold. First, running on anything but the economy right now is, well, stupid. Second, how much credibility do you have on the ethics front? As we saw in May, youth and progressives are tired of the same old same old two party system and realize they have a far more authentic voice with the NDP.

So thank-you, by pushing this issue you’re sending your progressive left wing to the NDP and you’re sending your reactionary right wing into the waiting arms of the Conservatives, just like the LPC did in May. I’ll take an NDP official opposition in October, or even possibly one better.

I care less about the political games as much as I care about what Hudak’s plans are on abortion.

As we saw in May, youth and progressives are tired of the same old same old two party system and realize they have a far more authentic voice with the NDP.

More authentic… except possibly when it comes to the environment (or so David Suzuki says). 😛

Oh pleeaase! As if Kinsella and the handful of Liberals going down with their ship aren’t desperate to use this to their political advantage, especially seeing that the Ontario Liberals are in free fall. If this were a matter of principle, you folk have had 15 years to point out Hudak’s position.

About the environment. The NDP has yet to roll out it’s environmental platform and has certainly been head and shoulder above the Liberals on the file -it wouldn’t take long to link to an article where Suzuki lauds and supports the NDP on the environment. He certainly doesn’t seem to endorse the Liberal plan in your link either. It is precisely because the NDP is expected to be the only authentic voice on the environment that he is pushing them.
